DEVELOPMENT AND TESTING: The 991.2 Carrera models are hampered by a natural set of mufflers in the form of turbochargers. Performance and efficiency take the front seat, but the distinct sound of a 911 is left to memory, or reserved for the brand’s elite GT models. We insisted that we could reinvigorate this platform with a radically simple straight-through design that maximizes EVERYTHING: sound, performance, weight, and sheer excitement. 3” mandrel-bent tubing right out of the turbos through the tips ensures nothing is holding back the 991.2 Carrera potential, and the results show it. Independent testing at AWE Tuning’s facility delivered gains of 17 whp and 14 lb-ft of torque at 6,500 RPM, as tested on a 2017 Carrera 4S with no other mods. Even more significant gains can be extracted with software. We experienced no Check Engine Lights during testing, but we do not guarantee the same for every individual car.
CONSTRUCTION: Each exhaust is assembled out of thick wall .065″ T304L stainless steel and 321 stainless for the tips and rigorously quality checked in-house. Smooth mandrel bends and thick flanges precision cut by a waterjet ensure product longevity. It was also important that we retain use of the factory heat shields as to not heat soak the components around the turbos.
BOLT ON AND GO: Each exhaust is tested in a fixture to ensure perfect fitment then foam packed to arrive in perfect condition. Hardware and thorough installation instructions are included in the box for a straightforward install that can be performed by most DIY enthusiasts.
